Organizers and Sponsors

This symposium is organized by the American Leadership and Citizenship Faculty Group at Bucknell–a group of faculty seeking to expand non-ideological and interactive educational opportunities for students to develop civic leadership skills.

The symposium coordinators are:

Prof. Alexander Tristan Riley (Sociology) researches and teaches on 20th-century intellectual history in relation to sociological theory, including Marxist ideology and practice and its influences.

Prof. Alfred  Kentigern Siewers (English Literary Studies) researches and teaches on literary resistance to totalitarianism, including fantasy as a response to oppression, and is working on a related book project.
